KeymasterHi Leo,
Yes, there are typos, the diagram should show pins 41, 45 , and 49 being used. Yes, the ground wires are not cross the ravine in the image when they should be. Both of these changes will be made.
As for the direction the Ultrasonic sensor is facing, the weighing of priorities needs to be made. No, the image is not suggesting that you need to bend the ultrasonic pins. Rather, it is trying to show you which pins connect to which rows. However, for easier connections, yes, it should be turned facing the other way. However, if we do that, then there is not a good way to show the pin labels and where they connect. I’ll consider this and try to come up with a better plan.
Thank you for your great feedback. You are helping us make a great product!

KeymasterHi Leo,
No, you are not being too critical. These are the types of issues we are trying to eliminate with this version of the product. The goal is to be as consistent, accurate and concise as possible.
Thank you for this feed back. It is on our to-do list to edit.

KeymasterHi Patrick,
Thanks for posting this. Was there an issue with what was presented on the website that we need to address? Also, I’m a little curious about the comment you included in the code you provided.

KeymasterHi Joel,
I went ahead and marked you as complete for lab 3 / lesson 4 (The basic Circuit). The thing about using this website is always checking the top of the lab and lesson title pages and the bottom right corner of the topic pages for the “Mark Complete” button. You need to press all of them to continue. First you need to click “Mark Complete” on the topic pages, then “Mark Complete” on the lesson title page. After you have finished all the topics of all the lessons, I believe there is one more “Mark Complete” for the entire lab on the lab title page.

KeymasterHi Leo,
My apologies for the delayed response. Open the terminal on your Raspberry Pi, type the following command to make sure you have access to most up-to-date software packages: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Then type the following command to see the options of software available for download: apt-cache search gnuradio
You should see at the very top of the list the option labeled “gnuradio”
Type the following command to see the details of this option: apt-cache show gnuradio
You should see towards the top of the details the latest version. It is currently (today) listed at “3.8.2.0-14”
From here, make sure you don’t already have it installed: gnuradio-config-info –version (*note that there are 2 dashes before version*)
If it’s not installed, use this command: sudo apt-get install gnuradio
After the installation is complete check the version again, you should see that the version listed matches the one you found earlier.

KeymasterHi Donald,
I retired from the Navy a few years ago, spent some time as a submariner with SDVT-1’s ASDS program. As I understand how college credit is awarded, this isn’t going to qualify. A course needs to be evaluated by American Council on Education (ACE). I am not sure what that entails but since BISKit is brand new and not evaluated by ACE there will most likely be no credits awarded. I would send this request up the chain to see if there is interest in gaining the accreditation for BISKit. That direction would come to us from SOCOM’s S&T directorate.
Best,
Barry Wallace
