Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this lab, the student will be able to:
Describe the basic history of the Linux OS and the various distributions.
Perform basic functions using the Linux command line.
Locate, install, and manage repositories.
What to Expect
Throughout this lab, you will learn about the history of Linux and how to perform basic functions in the command line. You’ll also learn about Linux repositories and how to access, install, and manage packages.
At the end of this lab, and several future labs as well, you will be given a stretch goal. A stretch goal is for you to grow your skills beyond the instruction provided in the lab with an element of fun. The stretch goal for this lab will be to go through Wargames, a Linux-based coding game, provided by OverTheWire. Further explanation will be given at the end of this lab.
