@Holly,
Good morning and Happy New Year!
I’m in the “Proto typing” section; “Prototyping with the PIR sensor”; 3rd SLIDE down, under “TASK: Prototyping the PIR Sensor”, Materials… it says “1x LED” and shows a WHITE/CLEAR LED. No mention of a breadboard.. even though one is showing later on under “Making Connections”…. and there’s MANY MORE jumper wires being shown and of different types.
“Draw the Circuit Diagram”… the diagram shows a 5v power source. The verbiage states that GPIO pins have an output of 3.3v. The 5v power source would overpower the 3.3v GPIO pins, right? GPIO pin #2 and #8 are in the Digital PWM section of the Arduino board. Power is on the other side of the board.
In that same paragraph, it uses a RED LED as an example for the circuit. Red =1.8v forward voltage. White = 4.0v forward voltage.
“Making Connections” shows a WHITE LED verses a RED, for which the calculations were done for.
Am I being too critical?
